Payal Trehan – Biography

Partner & Senior Investment Strategist

Payal Trehan Award winning financial planner

Payal is a full Partner and the financial brains behind the Michele Carby Practice. She loves immersing herself in the numbers, markets and investments, which is just as well because she is directly responsible for the stewardship of over $130 million. While that is a lot of money, Payal is keenly aware that it is our clients’ hard earned wealth and that protection is just as important as growth.

Payal was born in Dubai and completed her education at the London School of Economics with a BSc in Accounting & Finance, majoring in Capital Markets. After leaving university, she worked as an investment analyst with Goldman Sachs in London before moving back to Dubai to take up a position at Holborn, where she has been for six years.

Professionally, Payal holds qualifications from the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI) in the United States as a Capital Markets & Securities Analyst (CMSA) and holds a Series 7 Securities Licence from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Payal’s investment philosophy is not to attempt to outsmart the markets but to stay in sync with them. In practice, this means shadowing the market in terms of risk at any given time but looking for the additional value available by applying a blend of active management, detailed market analysis and knowledge. This strategy has been historically successful in providing our savers and investors with above market returns that stay within their risk parameters.

Payal often joins Michele in consultations, particularly at the beginning of a relationship. She ensures the client fully understands how the strategy meets their objectives, the risk profile and how any investment will be deployed. Payal also produces a regular investment newsletter and presents a quarterly webinar on her analysis of the markets.

At home, Payal loves her F45 Training, is a talented musician and is dedicated to her two dogs Bambi and Scruffy.
